What if the utility company does not service my address?

If your utility provider says they don’t service your address, don’t worry! Here’s a quick guide to help you figure out what to do next.


1. Incorrect Provider

The provider listed is wrong, but I know the correct provider. How do I update this?

  • Open your utility setup form. Need help accessing your form? Read more here.

  • Select the utility you need to update.

  • Click on “Other Company”, select "Other" from the Select the provider you chose drop down.

  • Enter your account information, and click Save.

2. Gas Isn’t Required (Fully Electric Home)

  • Check Your Lease: Confirm within your lease to ensure gas is not required.

  • Hide the Utility: If gas isn’t needed, you can hide it in your utility setup form to complete the process. How do I hide a utility that is not needed?


3. Address Is Incorrect

The utility company says my address isn’t correct. What now?

  • Confirm Your Address: Double-check the address in your lease or with your property manager.

  • Provide the correct address to the utility company.

4. HOA Handles Utilities

What if my address is serviced by an HOA?

  • Some HOAs manage utilities directly. Contact your HOA to confirm if this applies to your home.


5. New Construction or Well Water System

What if my home is newly built or on a private water system?

  • New Construction: Reach out to your property manager for assistance, as utilities may not yet be connected.

  • Well Water System: If your home uses a private well, confirm this with your property manager, and hide the water utility in your setup form.
